
Tamilnadu Vazhndhu Kaattuvom Project is an empowerment and poverty alleviation project implemented by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department of Government of Tamil Nadu with World Bank assistance. The project is being implemented across 2509 Village Panchayats in 70 Backward Blocks in 16 districts of the state. The Project has a few vacancies of District Project Manager.
We are looking for motivated and dynamic persons to lead our District Project Management Units. As the District Project Manager, you would guide and supervise a team of fifty to sixty young professionals in your district to achieve all project outcomes. You would report directly to the Project Director.
You should have completed your postgraduate (PG) degree in any discipline and should have at least eight years of relevant experience of leading a similar programme at the District Level and handling a team of more than 25-30 professional staff. Experience of working directly with people’s institutions and their federations, livelihoods promotion programmes would be preferred. Women candidates are encouraged to apply.
The maximum age limit for the position is 45 years as on 01.07.2010.
Selected candidates would be employed with TNVKP on a contract basis for a period of two years, subject to annual performance review. Based on performance, there are opportunities for career growth and further extension of the contract.
The salary package for the position is approximately 3.90 lacs per annum. The salary package consists of a consolidated monthly remuneration, travel allowances as per Grade I officer norms, car facility, travel and communication allowances, accident insurance cover, etc. After the initial two years tenure performance incentive may be 20% or 15% of remuneration and thereafter 10% or 7.5% per annum. The Project provides ample opportunities for professional development by sending staff for trainings, workshops and exposure visits.
